From Humble Beginnings to Servant of the Word: The Journey of Baguma Methodius
Baguma Methodius was born in a small village in Bundibugyo District, Uganda, East Africa.
Methodius’ parents were Catholics, so he grew up in a Roman Catholic Church. During the insurgence war with the Allied Democratic Force (ADF) rebels in western Uganda, people took refuge in IDP (Internally Displaced Person) camps. A preacher, Rev. Ndabugira Cosmus, preached in the camp where Methodius was staying, leading to his salvation in 2000.
Due to the fact that Methodius’ mother died while he was still young he was not able to complete his studies. However, by God’s grace, he was able to do correspondence certificates and received diploma in Biblical Studies (theology). In 2022 he was employed by a Bible translation organization known as “The Word for the World Bible Translators.” Through this organization Methodius is pursuing another diploma in Bible translation. He should complete these studies in 2024.
Methodius is a committed and a hard-working man with a zeal to serve the Lord whole-heartedly.
Embracing Faith and Unity:
A Journey from Bundibugyo to the World
Hailing from the picturesque landscapes of Bundibugyo district in Uganda, my journey in life was deeply influenced by the rich cultural tapestry and the strong sense of community that defines my homeland. Raised in a family where faith was not just a belief but a way of life, I learned from an early age the importance of compassion, service, and spiritual growth.
As a proud Ugandan and a follower of Christ’s path, I am committed to sharing its teachings and values with a global audience. My work as a Social Media Manager at the Gospel Mission Channel is not just a profession but a calling to bridge cultures and hearts through the universal language of faith and love.
I believe that our channel has the power to inspire and uplift people from all walks of life, transcending borders and boundaries. Together, let us continue to spread messages of hope and unity, drawing strength from the diversity and resilience of our global community.
My Journey Of Faith and Passion.
My name is Gerald Agonzebwa, and my journey began right here in Kampala, Uganda,
Sundays were always special for me and my mother. We’d walk to church together, singing hymns as we went. At just 10 years old, I made the decision to embrace Christ in my life. My mother’s unwavering faith inspired me.
As I grew older, I discovered a passion for sports. Football and basketball became my escape, where I could express myself freely. Through wins and losses, I held onto the lessons my mother taught me about teamwork and perseverance.
But life had more in store for me. I stumbled upon the world of software development, and I was captivated. With determination as my fuel, I dove headfirst into coding. Each line of code became a challenge I eagerly embraced.
Eventually, my passion for technology led me to pursue higher education, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Technology, equipping me with the knowledge and skills to excel in the digital world. Driven by my love for software development, I pursued additional certifications. I earned certificates in Software Engineering with JavaScript and Frontend Development, honing my expertise in these areas and opening doors to new opportunities.
Amidst the ups and downs, my faith remains my anchor. It guides me through the uncertainties and gives me strength.
